Active in: Women's Resource Center. We empower
young women to take an active role in society - lobbying
for women's rights in Armenia - supporting women in
crisis situation - changing mentalities and stereotypes
in society regarding gender issues - sexual rights and
health - peace building in south Caucasus.
I fight for: better society, more just, less indifferent of
others, inclusive of different people from all walks of life.
I want to ban gender based violence, because it dictates
our life as woman from the very beginning of our life. So i want have to think constantly about when to leave, where to go, how to plan my day, my night, my life so I could stay safe and not pass the same feeling of fear to my daughters.
Your activism recommendations: Start from yourself, whatever bothers you in your own life and makes you feel less than a human being, point at it and denounce it, others will join you or maybe not sometimes and that is ok also. Believe in what you are doing.
